More Soil for Additional Gardens
Last summer we had two empty garden frames. But with new soil, compost, and volunteer power, we’ve filled them up and have them ready for the summer.
Growing Strong as We Approach Fall
The community has grown tomatoes, watermelon, squash, lettuce, beans, okra, and much more this past summer. We’ll keep on harvesting those crops as we plant new cool-season veggies for the fall.
Monarch Caterpillars in the New Pollinator Garden
We’ve added a new wildflower / pollinator garden outside the garden fence and already have some hungry monarch butterfly larva eating up the milkweed. It’s a sure sign we need more milkweed growing next year!
First Ripe Tomatoes…
Hopefully we’ll have many many more to come!
New Picnic Tables at the Garden
UMW COAR student volunteers built two picnic tables, which have been added to the garden.
